Biography

Trong Gia Nguyen is a conceptually-working, multi-disciplinary artist of American-Vietnamese origin. Born in 1971 in Vietnam, 1995, he immigrated to America and studied fine arts and art history at various universities in Florida. His work is known for his culture-critique  and the integration of political and economic aspects of his work. His works include installation, film, painting, sculpture, performances, and web-based promotions to iPhone applications (metaphysical GPS).

In addition to the MAD Open Studio Program, Trong has received awards and residencies from Artists-in-Residence in the Everglades, LegalArt Miami, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, LMCC Workspace, Bronx Museum of the Arts AIM, and Puffin Foundation, NY.


He currently lives and works in New York.
